Materials we build turnkey bathhouses in Almaty from:
- Wood: The most popular material for building steam rooms. It has excellent thermal insulation properties, benefits your health and creates a cosy atmosphere. We work with various species of wood, including pine, cedar and larch. The thermal conductivity of wood is only 0,09-0,18 W/(m·K).
- Timber: An excellent choice for those who value environmental friendliness and the aesthetics of natural wood. Profiled timber provides excellent thermal insulation and minimal shrinkage.
- Log: Creates the authentic look of a traditional Russian bathhouse. Rounded logs ensure an even distribution of heat and moisture. With proper care, a log structure can last more than 50 years.
- Log cabin: Hand-hewn log building is an art that we carefully preserve. A log cabin has a unique energy and excellent thermal insulation properties.
- Brick: Brick structures are strong, durable and fire-resistant. An ideal choice for those who value reliability and a classic appearance. The service life of a brick structure can exceed 100 years.
- SIP panels: A modern material that provides high construction speed and excellent thermal insulation. A turnkey bathhouse made of SIP panels can be built in 2-3 weeks, which is 60-70% faster than traditional methods.
- Foam block: A light, warm material with good vapour permeability. Bathhouses made of foam blocks are economical to build and run. The cost of building with foam blocks is 20-30% lower than with brick.
- Frame: Frame structures are distinguished by a lightweight design and the ability to use various insulation materials. This makes it possible to create bathhouses with optimal thermal insulation at a relatively low cost. The construction period for a frame building is from 3 to 6 weeks.
- Foam concrete: Foam concrete structures are energy-efficient and affordable. This material provides excellent thermal insulation and allows unique architectural forms to be created. The thermal conductivity of foam concrete is 0,18-0,28 W/(m·K).
Building a bathhouse with PROFI-DOM — the finer points and advantages:
One of the key aspects is proper ventilation. At PROFI-DOM we use a supply-and-exhaust ventilation system with heat recovery that provides up to 12 air changes per hour, maintaining an optimal microclimate and saving up to 30% of heating energy. It is also important to consider the placement of the ventilation openings: the supply vent is positioned 30-40 cm above the floor, and the exhaust vent just below the ceiling.
Thermal insulation is another critical factor. We use a multi-layer insulation system with modern materials such as extruded polystyrene or high-density mineral wool (at least 50 kg/m³). This keeps heat inside the room for up to 24 hours after the stove has been fired.
Waterproofing also plays a decisive role in a modern bathhouse. When we build bathhouses in Almaty, we use a comprehensive approach that includes installing a waterproofing membrane on the floor and walls, as well as special hydrophobic impregnations for the wooden elements. This increases the service life of the structure by 40-50% compared with traditional methods.
Special attention is paid to the electrics. We install moisture-proof equipment with a protection rating of at least IP65, and the wiring is run in special heat-resistant cable ducts. For extra safety we use an RCD with a leakage current of no more than 30 mA.
The stove is the heart of any bathhouse. In modern projects we offer stoves with flue-gas afterburning, which raises efficiency to 90% and significantly reduces harmful emissions. In addition, we install automatic temperature and humidity control systems that make it possible to create up to 10 different steaming modes.
The choice of materials for the interior finishing of a bathhouse is no less important. We use wood that has been heat-treated at a temperature of 180-200°C, which increases its resistance to moisture and temperature fluctuations by 300-400%. For the benches we recommend using linden or abachi, which do not heat above 40°C even when the steam room is at 100°C.
Lighting in a modern bathhouse is not just a functional element but also a way of creating the right atmosphere. We install LED lighting systems that allow the colour temperature to be adjusted from 2700K to 6500K, making it possible to create different lighting scenarios for relaxation or invigoration.
At PROFI-DOM we also pay great attention to the ergonomics of the space. Our designers develop the layout based on anthropometric data, ensuring the optimal arrangement of elements. For example, the distance between the benches is calculated taking into account a person's average height, and the width of the passages is made at least 80 cm for comfortable movement.
Together, all these finer points allow us to create bathhouses that not only meet modern standards of quality and safety but also exceed the expectations of even the most demanding clients. Turnkey bathhouse construction from PROFI-DOM is an investment in your health, comfort and quality of life for many years to come.
Your feedback matters a great deal to us

Frequently asked questions about building a bathhouse
Which material is best to use for building a bathhouse?
What should the ceiling height in the steam room be?
1. Heat distribution:
- Hot air rises, creating temperature layers.
- At a height of 2,1-2,3 m, an optimal temperature gradient forms from floor to ceiling.
- This lets you steam either sitting or lying down without any discomfort.
- A smaller room volume requires less energy to heat.
- A bathhouse with this ceiling height heats up faster and retains heat longer.
- At the optimal height it is easier to control the humidity level.
- The steam is distributed more evenly, rather than concentrating under a high ceiling.
- At this height it is easier to arrange effective natural ventilation.
- Fresh air comes in and stale air goes out more intensively.
Which insulation is best to use for a bathhouse?
The most popular options: mineral wool, polyurethane foam, cellulose wool.
1. Mineral wool:
- Advantages: high heat resistance (withstands up to 1000°C), good sound insulation, non-combustibility and an affordable price
- Use: most often for insulating exterior walls and the ceiling
- Advantages: excellent thermal insulation, high moisture resistance, durability, and it fills all the gaps when sprayed
- Use: for insulating walls, floor and ceiling; especially effective for complex structures
- Advantages: environmental friendliness; good thermal insulation; the ability to "breathe" and regulate humidity; resistance to fungus and mould
- Use: for insulating walls and the ceiling
- Use a combination of materials to achieve the best result
- Always install a vapour barrier on the steam room side
- Provide a ventilated gap in the wall and ceiling structure
- The insulation thickness depends on the climate zone but is usually 50-150 mm
How do you properly care for a wooden bathhouse?
1. Regular airing:
- After each use, leave the door and windows open for 30-60 minutes
- In the warm season, air the bathhouse 2-3 times a week
- In winter, air it in dry weather 1-2 times a week
- Wipe all surfaces with a dry cloth
- Leave the door ajar for a few hours after using the bathhouse
- Use fans or fan heaters to speed up the drying process
- Pay special attention to corners and joints where moisture can accumulate
- Regularly clean the ash out of the stove
- Inspect and clean the chimney at least once a year
- Keep an eye on the condition of the stones in the heater and replace any that are damaged
- If the bathhouse is not used in winter, drain the water from all systems
- Heat the bathhouse periodically even in winter as a preventive measure
- Use special impregnations designed for bathhouses and saunas
- Treat the exterior surfaces once every 2-3 years
- Treat the interior surfaces once every 5-7 years
