Why people order a modern gazebo from us
Geometry instead of decor
A modern gazebo has no carving or balusters, so proportions decide everything. We set the posts by laser, keeping the deviation from vertical within 2 mm.
A gazebo with style
in 5–28 days
A minimalist canopy on a steel frame 3×4 m - 5–7 days, a timber barnhouse 4×4 m - 14–18 days, high-tech with sliding glazing - 22–28 days.
fasteners that are not visible
We hide the plates and bolts inside the joint or under cover strips. An exposed screw on a black facade is visible from ten paces and immediately gives away amateur assembly.
The dark facade doesn't fade
For graphite and black wood we use oil with a UV filter or thermowood. Cheap impregnation goes grey and blotchy in the Almaty sun within a single season.
Our own production
We cut the timber and weld and paint the metal ourselves, with no middleman contractors. Hence a price from 420 000 ₸, a timeframe from 5 days and a 5-year warranty instead of a one-year one.
A flat roof for snow
We keep a 3–5° slope with drainage and calculate the load at 150–200 kg/m². We reinforce the frame corners with plates: Almaty is in a 9-point zone.

What we build modern gazebos from

A modern gazebo has no decor, so everything rests on the materials and the precision of the joints:
Profiled and glued laminated timber, thermowood for the facade. Brushing and oil with a UV filter give that deep dark colour which does not go grey.
Wood

Black metal
Profile tube with a powder coating in matte graphite. Powder coating lasts for years, whereas spray-can paint fades in the Almaty sun within a season.

Flat roof
A 3–5° slope with drainage, a membrane over solid decking, a straight edge with no overhang. We calculate the load at 150–200 kg/m²: only a properly calculated roof can hold the foothills' snow.

We don't sell off-the-shelf solutions. We design a modern gazebo to match the house and fence: the proportions, roof lines and facade colour must match what already stands on the plot.
We lay the floor with 36 mm decking board on joists with a 3–5 mm gap for water run-off. We put waterproofing under the joists. What this gives you:
We set the posts by laser, keeping deviation within 2 mm
We hide the fasteners inside the joint or under cover strips, so nothing shows on the outside
Even lines and joints

A modern gazebo
A modern gazebo is defined not by the material or the price but by geometry. Straight lines, simple volumes, no carving, balusters, wrought-iron scrolls or shaped valances. A classic gazebo is built around decor, a modern one around proportions and the precision of its joints. That is why the design of a modern gazebo always begins with a drawing in which every angle and joint is verified.
Instead of a hip roof - a flat or single-pitch one. The wide overhang is replaced by a crisp straight edge. The materials are shown openly: black metal reads as metal, wood as wood, glass as a plane. No imitation decor.
What makes a gazebo modern
Amateur assembly is obvious at once: skewed posts, exposed fasteners, a crooked cladding joint. During installation the deviation of the posts from vertical is kept within 2 mm. This is the case where quality determines the appearance. A modern gazebo demands precise workmanship, otherwise it turns into an ordinary shed with a flat roof.
Hence the main difference in how we work: building modern gazebos starts not with choosing a picture but with measuring the plot and drawing the joints. A beautiful wooden gazebo comes not from an expensive species of wood but from all the lines meeting where they should.
Minimalism, barnhouse, loft: how the styles differ
Modern gazebos are rarely built “just like that” - usually one of the recognisable styles is chosen. It is important to understand the difference, because each has its own structural solutions.
- Minimalism is a flat roof, light or graphite planes and a minimum of detail. The gazebo reads as a volume rather than a collection of elements.
- A barnhouse is a tall, sharp gable with no overhangs, dark vertical cladding and light wood inside. The silhouette resembles a barn, hence the name.
- A loft is black metal with visible bolts, a brick wall and exposed wiring with light fixtures. The structure deliberately does not hide its joints.
- Scandinavian - light planed wood, simple shapes, textiles, soft light. The “warmest” of the modern options.
- High-tech - aluminium profile, sliding glazing, smooth surfaces, built-in light fixtures. The height of technology.
A modern-style gazebo is chosen to match the house and fence, not picked separately from them. A black-metal gazebo will clash with a house in a warm wooden style, while a light Scandinavian option will be lost against a brick fence. First look at the facade and the fencing, then at the picture you like.
Wood, metal and glass: what works in Almaty
Profiled and glued laminated timber are two different approaches. Profiled is cheaper and is used for small structures. Glued laminated timber is more stable geometrically - it does not twist or warp, so a larger cross-section is used for long spans. The post timber is 100x100 mm, and 150x150 mm for long spans. This is not a recommendation but a minimum requirement.
Thermowood and brushing on a modern facade are not there for decoration. Heat treatment changes the structure of the wood, making it stable in the sun: it cracks less and does not warp. Brushing and dark oil with a UV filter - from 4 500 KZT per square metre - give a deep matte colour that does not fade over a season. Ordinary paint fades in the Almaty sun within a couple of years.
Black powder-coated metal is not spray-can paint. Powder coating is cured in an oven, creating a dense finish that doesn't scratch during assembly and doesn't peel off after a year. It is precisely this kind of metal that is used in the loft and high-tech styles.
Glass in a modern gazebo is a material of style, not just insulation. A continuous plane with no muntins creates the effect of open space. A single-chamber double-glazed unit 24 mm in a PVC profile - from 42 000 KZT per square metre. A frameless sliding aluminium system - from 120 000 KZT per square metre. The difference in price is noticeable, but so is the effect.
Combinations that don't clash: wood with black metal, brick with wood. Don't try to combine more than two materials in one structure - you'll get eclecticism rather than a modern style.
A word specifically about modern wooden gazebos: this is not the same as unusual wooden gazebos with carved overlays and a complex silhouette. Here the wood works in planes - vertical cladding of a single width, an even seam, closed end grain. Carving, overlays and shaped valances are not used here at all: they break up the plane.

Flat and single-pitch roofs: how it's done right
A flat roof is never horizontal. A slope of 3-5 degrees is mandatory, otherwise water will pool and seek a way through the membrane. In the Almaty foothills the snow load the roof is calculated for is 150-200 kg per square metre. The slope must not be reduced for the sake of looks: this is not aesthetics but calculation.
A pitched roof on modern gazebos is made from 25 degrees. A single-pitch option is simpler to build and cheaper than a gable, but it requires careful drainage. A membrane and internal drainage versus a classic pitch - that is the fundamental difference. In the classic version water runs off by itself; in a modern flat roof it is collected by a drainage system that needs maintenance.
Almaty is in a 9-point seismic zone, so the corners and joints of the frame are reinforced with steel plates. This is not over-caution but a safety requirement. A typical mistake is a flat roof with no load calculation. It sags over the first winter, and it can no longer be fixed - only re-roofed from scratch.
Glazing and slatted screens
Panoramic glazing is a stylistic device. A continuous plane with no muntins creates the effect of an open volume, which cannot be achieved with ordinary windows with mullions. A double-glazed unit versus a frameless sliding system: a single-chamber double-glazed unit 24 mm in a PVC profile - from 42 000 KZT per square metre, a frameless aluminium system - from 120 000 KZT. For year-round use choose a double-glazed unit, for a summer option with the ability to open the span completely - a frameless system.
Slatted thermowood screens - from 22 000 KZT per square metre. They provide shade, privacy and a play of light while the perimeter stays open. This is a compromise between a fully closed gazebo and an open structure.
Glazing isn't needed at all if the gazebo is used only in the warm season. Modern open-type wooden gazebos win thanks to air and light. If you do need a year-round option, see glazed gazebos: they cover double-glazed units, the thermal envelope and winter use.
Lighting, hearth and furniture
Concealed linear lighting around the roof perimeter - from 45 000 KZT - matters more than a chandelier. A chandelier is a decorative element, while linear lighting creates a pattern of light that changes how the space is perceived. Warm and neutral light are split into scenarios: warm for evening relaxation, neutral for reading or working.
The hearth in a modern gazebo is a built-in station, a concealed extractor hood and a non-combustible base. A steel grill with an extractor hood - from 90 000 KZT, a brick grill complex - from 180 000 KZT. The difference is not only in price but also in the structural load: the brick complex takes the load on itself, the steel grill does not.
Furniture of simple shapes, built-in benches, no excess decor. A modern gazebo needs no wicker chairs or colourful cushions - clean lines are enough.
Modern gazebos with a grill are built on one rule: the hearth is not displayed as a separate object but built into the post flush with the facade, and the hood is boxed in. A modern-style gazebo with a grill loses none of its clean lines because of this. The layout of the grill area itself - chimney, extractor, non-combustible base - is covered in detail on the page about gazebos with a grill.
How the gazebo fits onto the plot
The gazebo must match the style of the house and fence, otherwise it looks out of place. The gazebo's lines are aligned with the lines of the house and paths rather than set at an angle. This visually ties the structures into a single ensemble.
A foundation for Almaty soil: pier on concrete blocks - from 45 000 KZT, a monolithic slab 150 mm - from 75 000 KZT, screw piles (9 of them) - from 90 000 KZT. A light summer gazebo only needs piers, while a glazed structure or one with a brick grill needs a slab or piles.
Modern gazebos for a dacha are the same solution in a smaller size. Scandinavian style from planed timber with decking board 3x4 m - from 590 000 KZT, timeframe 12-14 days. This is the best option for a small plot. Placement, budget and overwintering without the owners are covered on the page about gazebos for a dacha.
What makes up the price
Modern gazebos can be bought at various prices, but the premium for style over the price of a classic gazebo of the same area is 25-35 percent. This money goes not on decor but on precise geometry, concealed fasteners, powder coating and facade finishing.
What adds the most to the cost is the glazing and a complex roof. A frameless system costs from 120 000 KZT per square metre - over a large span it is comparable in price to the frame itself. A flat roof with a membrane and internal drainage is more expensive than a classic hip roof of corrugated sheeting.
Where you can save without losing style:
- size - a gazebo 3x4 instead of 4x5;
- ceiling finish - lining board instead of thermowood decking;
- lighting - install it as a second stage;
- furniture - buy it gradually.
What you must not skimp on: the foundation, the timber cross-sections, the fasteners, the treatment of the wood. Antiseptic is applied in two coats before assembly, with the end grain painted separately. Only galvanised fasteners - black screws rust and leave streaks that cannot be removed. Saving on these things devalues the whole gazebo.
You can build in stages without breaking the style: first the frame with the roof and foundation, then the glazing, then the lighting and furniture. The main thing is to include all the elements in the design from the very start so the structure doesn't have to be reworked.
The company builds gazebos in Almaty and the region at its own facility: its own wood and metal workshop, with no middleman contractors. The structure is guaranteed for 5 years. The construction time is from 5 to 28 days depending on the style and glazing. The site visit for measurements within Almaty is free.
